The 90th Chatou Fair – 6-15 March 2015 – world of the Guinguette

Next March 6-15, the 90th Fair will celebrate the spirit of the Guinguette – the friendliness, the gaiety and the unpretentiousness of the popular café dance-halls that once lined the banks of the rivers and canals around Paris; values that have marked the fair from its earliest days, and are noclip_image001w more than ever in tune with the times.

Worthy of Renoir’s “Dejeuner des Canotiers”, painted on the island in the Seine, the Ile des Impressionistes, where the Chatou Fair has set up its booths since 1970, the fair next spring will recreate an old-style Guinguette, a living space where visitors can enjoy the best of French regional food and wine after rummaging through the streets of the pop-up village’s 700 stalls.
